Whether with a motorhome, trailer, or a tent – here you will find your spot in the midst of the impressive scenery of the Hohe Tauern and experience mountain camping at its finest. Far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you can start your day relaxed – just the way you like it. Stroll through the village, enjoy the sun, or treat yourself to a break in the restaurant – with us, you will immediately feel welcome.
Alpine nature here does not mean giving up comfort. All pitches are equipped with electricity, water supply and drainage, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV. This also makes our site perfect for your camping holiday in Carinthia. In addition, you have access to practical facilities such as washing machines, a drying room, a dishwashing area, and a dog shower. For even more privacy, you can also book a modern private bathroom.

No matter which pitch you choose – our pitches are among the most beautiful in Carinthia and will enchant you with an impressive view of the extraordinary mountain landscape of the region, offering every imaginable comfort in both summer and winter. 5 kWh per day are included in your stay. Water supply and drainage as well as free Wi-Fi at the pitch are available to you.

Sanitary facilities
and rental bathrooms
Our modern sanitary facilities are located directly in the main building and are equipped to the latest standards. Underfloor heating and spacious shower cabins provide a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere all year round.
Sustainability is also important at HOCHoben: the entire complex is heated and supplied with hot water in an environmentally friendly way by Biowärme Mallnitz (a wood chip heating plant).
For those who wish to enjoy more privacy during their stay, four rental bathrooms with a shower, sink, and toilet are also available.
Winter
camping
Winter camping is long no longer just an insider tip – it’s a true experience. When temperatures drop and snow transforms the mountain world of the Hohe Tauern, HOCHoben becomes a very special retreat and offers ideal winter camping in Austria. Warming wood fires, crisp winter air, and perfectly maintained pitches create an atmosphere you won’t forget. Modern, heated sanitary facilities as well as TV connections and free Wi-Fi ensure comfort – even during the cold season. For those traveling with a motorhome, HOCHoben is perfectly suited as a winter pitch, especially for anyone looking for a ski area nearby.
Winter holidays for the whole family
While children build snow castles or practise their first turns on the in-house snow hill with a magic carpet, parents can relax and enjoy the sun on the terrace of our restaurant.
Active guests can start the cross-country ski trail directly on the premises or use the free shuttle to the Ankogel and Mölltaler Glacier ski areas.
Practical winter extras such as a drying room, space for preparing skis and storage facilities for all your equipment provide additional comfort and make your stay thoroughly enjoyable.
Important information about winter camping
- Caravans and awnings must be winter-proof and able to withstand heavy snow loads (up to 400 kg/m² possible).
- For liability reasons, snow clearance on rented pitches cannot be carried out by the site management.
- Guests are responsible for keeping caravans and awnings clear of snow.
